#DMUglobal in New York
Hundreds of students and staff from De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) have visited New York as part of the third mass #DMUglobal trip to The Big Apple.
The trip was organised by the university as a replacement opportunity as severe weather conditions in January meant that a number of final-year students weren’t able to fly to New York and take part in their academic trips.
Itineraries were designed for students to offer a tailored experience which brings to life the topics and skills covered in the classroom in one of the world’s most exciting cities.
This trip also included a summit at the United Nations Headquarters on Thursday 7 June. The conference was a meeting of the #JoinTogether network, a group of global universities which have made a commitment to use academic knowledge, research and the ideas, enthusiasm and passion of their students to support refugees and migrant communities around the world.
DMU’s involvement in the UN’s Together campaign was launched during the January trip when hundreds of students took part in a summit at the United Nations Headquarters on Tuesday 9 January.
We followed the students as they enjoyed their academic trips, attend the UN event and soaked up the sights and sounds of the Big Apple. Catch up on their adventures here and on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Snapchat.
