Tickets go on sale for Leicester Business Festival - the region's biggest business event

Tickets have gone on sale for this year’s Leicester Business Festival, the region’s biggest business event. The Leicester Castle Business School based at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) is the headline sponsor for the event, which showcases the breadth and depth of business talent in the city and county.

Around 150 events will be featured in a packed programme at this year’s event, which will be the third annual business festival to take place in Leicestershire.

Professor Dana Brown, Principal of Leicester Castle Business School, said: “The Business Festival aims to encourage investment and business growth across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland for the benefit of all who live, do business and work here.

“It is really pleasing to see that the Business Festival is well supported. It is going to be a very exciting fortnight and we are delighted to be at the forefront as headline sponsor.

“Through the Business Festival we are eager to show that Leicester Castle Business School is an integral part of the business community as well as a key resource for the businesses in the region.”

Leicester and Leicestershire is the East Midlands’ largest economy. The full programme will be released on October 3 in the Leicester Mercury’s Business Monthly supplement but some events are already on the LBF website.

Scott Knowles, chair of the LBF Steering Group, said: “It’s a very healthy-looking, exciting Business Festival programme that will really have something for everyone.

“Already approved events are listed on the website and tickets are flying out of the door.

“Over 95 per cent of all the events are completely free to attend, although tickets must be booked in advance and are available on a first come first served basis. I would encourage people to visit the website as soon as possible to make sure they get the tickets to the events they want to attend.”

New to the festival this year is a conference celebrating women in business run by the ‘Woman Who’ network in conjunction with the Federation of Small Businesses. The conference will aim to inspire women to have the confidence to start or grow their businesses.

Along with Leicester Castle Business School as headline partner, the festival also has the support of well-known business organisations including East Midlands Chamber, LLEP Business Gateway, the Federation of Small Businesses, Highcross Leicester, Brewin Dolphin, Leicester Racecourse and IBM.

Other supporters include East Midlands Trains, Institute of Directors, De Montfort University, Leicester University and media partners, Capital FM, Global Radio and the Leicester Mercury.
