Hundreds of students joined in the fun of Holi, one of the most colourful celebrations in the Hindu calendar.
Holi, the Hindu festival of spring, is marked with a heady mix of colour and fun across the world.
For the third year running DMU Indian Society, part of De Montfort Students’ Union, has put on the party in Bede Park, next to campus.
This year the society joined forces with DMU Square Mile to raise cash for Square Mile India Fund, created to support children at a Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Bhaskar Pandya, chairman of DMU Indian Society, said: “This is the biggest event yet it is great to see so many people here enjoying themselves and celebrating Holi.
“This year we have worked with Square Mile to help raise money for the children in India being supported by the Square Mile India project.”
The actual date of Holi falls on Wednesday, March 23 this year but as many students will be away for Easter the event was held on Thursday.
