I am pleased to invite you to this lecture by Professor Alison Honour on the emergence of Urban Art as one of the newest art forms in the UK.

What began as subversive street art, often with a socio-political stance, later became main-stream, with non-traditional, self-taught artists producing highly sought-after and collectable artwork. Alison will share her experience of owning a gallery that supported Urban Artists, how this movement gained traction through the development of a new entrepreneurial art-buying public and how this led to the first Urban Art auction at Bonhams in 2008.
